Services
The Center offers a wide variety of services designed to meet our members needs. An on-site social worker, provided by Jewish Family Services, is available for supportive counseling. Medicare assistance is available annually and AARP provides driver education and recertification programs as well as free tax assistance. Support groups include those for low vision, caregiver support and grief support. Flu shots are provided for qualified applicants at our annual Health and Wellness Fair.
Eating Together in Baltimore
Senior adults age 60 and over are eligible to participate in the Eating Together In Baltimore (ETIB) program. Meals are served five days per week. It is required that all Eating Together participants complete a registration form to keep on file with the Eating Together program. An anonymous contribution toward the cost of the meal is requested. The suggested contribution is $2.25 for people 60 and over. People under the age of 60 must pay $6.50 per meal.
The Center’s Eating Together in Baltimore program uses a reservation system. Individuals must make reservations at the lunch room desk each week. The reservations you will be making are for meals that will be served two weeks ahead.
Please Note: All food served in the Eating Together program is 100% Kosher. However, at other functions at the Center non-Kosher foods may be served.
The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Senior Sunday Program is held approximately 30 Sundays per year. Light refreshments are served at 11 a.m., followed by entertainment or a lively program. Reservations are suggested.
The state-of-the-art lending library is available for our members’ enjoyment. Books may be borrowed for a 3-week period. The library is entirely staffed by volunteers. The library houses an abundant collection of large print materials. An electronic magnifier is available for visually impaired members.
